Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel has condemned in totality the alleged attack on the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose by security operatives, stressing that it was a total abuse of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Speaking on behalf of all the Governors of the People’s Democratic Party-PDP in the country, during a media briefing at the government House Uyo, Governor Emmanuel who noted that it was wrong for a country to operate without respect to the rule of law, urged Nigerians to reject any form of intimidation in exercising their franchise from any quarter.

While again reiterating the readiness of the PDP for a peaceful outing on the July 14 Governorship election in Ekiti State, Government House correspondent Jane Uwa reports that the Governor who is the chairman of the party’s campaign committee for the election, further called on security agencies to abide by the rule of law in the discharge of their professional duties.
