Governor Udom welcomes Nigerian Army’s operation crocodile Smile in Akwa Ibom state

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel has assured the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army of his government’s readiness to co-operate and support them in the conduct of “Operation Crocodile Smile three” in the state.

Speaking when he played host to the General Officer Commanding-GOC, 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, Major General Jamil Sarham who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Uyo, the Governor commended the Military for their support in his efforts to combat crimes in the state and pledged to continue providing the needed amenities for the smooth operations of the military.

While stating that his administration is investing heavily in providing security in the state as a way of enhancing the socio economic fortunes of the people, Governor Emmanuel further used the occasion to announce his readiness to redeem his pledge of assisting the military by renovating some quarters at the Nigeria Army Barracks, Ibagwa as early as next week.

Government House correspondent Jane Uwa reports that earlier in his address, Major General Sarham said he was in the state to officially register his presence as the new GOC of the 6 Division and commended the Governor for the support given to the army. He also announced the Army’s readiness to Launch “Operation Crocodile Smile three” in the state.
