PDP Akwa Ibom State receives Sunny Elijah and other decampees in Nsit Atai

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Akwa Ibom State, have recieved former APC chieftain, Obong Sunny Elijah and thousands of other members in Nsit Atai, back to PDP, describing their return as a turning point in the political fortune of the area.
The State Chairman of PDP, Obong Paul Ekpo, who led members of the State Executive Committee to receive the defectors, commended them for taking such a bold step to return to the big family and charged them to henceforth, remain steadfast in the fold.
He used the opportunity to commend the leaders in Nsit Atai for working hard to attract dividends of democracy to the area, adding that the Leader of the Party, Governor Udom Emmanuel sends his regards for their support and contribution to the success recorded by the State Government in the area.
In his response on behalf of the defectors, Sunny Elijah thanked the leadership of the party for the warm reception accorded him and other APC members and applauded Governor Emmanuel for the giant strides recorded so far across the state, saying it was the reason why he took the decision to return.
Also speaking, former member representing Nsit Atai State Constituency, in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Sarah Elijah, who also defected, stated that with the defection of Prince Elijah, the APC is non existent in Nsit Atai as her backbone has been broken.
In his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Affairs and Water Resources, Barrister Ekong Sampson, among others who spoke, described the APC as a collapsing building, which right thinking men flee from.
