President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated Nigeria’s commitment in the sustenance of democracy and fight against corruption and insurgency across the globe.
Buhari who stated this when he addressed world leaders at the 72nd session of United Nations General Assembly, also asked the assembly to ensure that global conflicts are resolved to enthrone peace, emphasising the need to bridge the gap between the rich and poor in many countries of the world.
He promised the assembly his continued support in upholding the principles and goals of the United Nations which are geared towards global peace and development.
According to Buhari, the most pressing threat to international peace today is the accelerated nuclear development program by North Korea. He proposed a strong United Nations delegation led by the Security Council, to urgently engage the North Korean leader.
