The need for people to practice regular hand washing to enhance personal hygiene and good health has been reiteration as the 2018 Global Hand washing Day is marked with the theme, “Cleans hands; A recipe for Good Health”.
Speaking with PLANET NEWS on the commemoration, some residents in Uyo who noted that the global campaign was significant said, that the practice of hand washing could help prevent communicable diseases amongst other benefits.
Some of the respondents particularly advised nursing mothers to ensure they observe proper hand washing when breast feeding their babies for healthy living of the babies.
Global Hand washing Day marked on 15th October every year is a campaign to motivate and mobilize people around the world to improve their hand washing habits as a key factor in disease prevention and public health enhancement.
