U.S intercepts explosive packages sent to Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama

The US Secret Service has said it had intercepted suspect packages, identified as potential explosive devices, sent to the homes of former President Barack Obama and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton.

The Secret Service said it recovered a single package addressed to Clinton in Westchester, a suburb north of Manhattan on Tuesday, and a second package addressed to Obama’s residence in Washington on Wednesday.

ELSEWHERE – Hurricane Willa crashed ashore in western Mexico, lashing the Pacific coast with powerful winds and heavy rain before weakening to a tropical storm as it moved inland.

The powerful storm, which was a maximum Category 5 hurricane on Monday, had weakened to Category 3 as it moved toward land. Forecasters warned that the storm still had the potential to unleash deadly flooding and landslides.
